Karma by Do-Ho Suh

An imposing sculpture which shows two large legs, in mid stride, stepping on hundreds of minuscule figures. When I first saw this piece I initially thought it was a commentary on oppression, the large feet stepping down on the tiny masses. However after looking in to it more, it’s clear to see that the miniature figures are running ahead of the front foot, in anticipation on the next step and throwing their hands up offering support. So the piece depicts a scene where both parties are mutually dependent on each other, and proceed to move forward together.
